Is that really possible?
Saturday, March 24 is being promoted as "Shutdown Day."The idea is to turn off your computer and go do something else. Can you live without your email, your blogs, your news feeds, your games, your Google searches... for 24 hours? In a row?
I'm willing to give it a shot. If anybody needs me, I'll be in that really big room with the gray ceiling and the dirty floor...

According to my calendar, Saturday is my day to "set-up seed starter shelf", in addition to regular dance class for my daughter and an afternoon birthday party. I'll be busy enough to stay off of the computer for a day ... well, until evening, when things start to wind down.
I may have to break out the digital camera, though, and take some pictures of my newly planted seeds. Is that moving away from the spirit of the project? :)
Sure, I'll do it. I just post my Sat. entry before midnight tonight.
Yeah, my weekends usually don't center around the computer either. It'll be interesting for me to see how many times I miss it though.
I think the idea was just personal computers. Eliminating everything with a microchip would be tough. Especially since half the time you don't even know it's there!

That said, here I am, having my blogs and email with my morning tea :).
I was surprised how many times I thought to sit down at the computer desk. But I didn't. It wasn't hard, because I can think of a million things I'd get just as much satisfaction from. But it was a bit enlightening to notice the effect.
Of course I'll probably spend twice as much time today catching up on all the stuff I wanted to look up or read or check. It really is tipped more toward useful tool than time waster for me. At least on the weekends!

Sorry, couldn't resist. Maybe I made my kitchen look like the great outdoors for a reason!
Jamie - Heh... yeah, not as much wildlife as I was hoping for. :)
Hey, I did it all unawares! I had to take the computer apart on Friday, and didn't get it set up again until this afternoon! I'm a groupie!
I thought about hopping on the computer come the late evening then i saw my note stuck to my screen reminding me of the challenge. Guess old habits die hard.
