I've got stuff to share, but haven't had time or energy to say it of late. I'll get back to it shortly, but for now, we're switching off for one day a week. Not completely off, just computers, television, game systems and the like. A sort of low-tech family day. We decided we've been spending too much time staring at separate little glowing screens. So off we go. See you in a bit... and join us if you like.

I wish....married to a computer geek and his job...says it all really.
I do try but its an uphill battle. Specially as eldest is exactly like his dad :)

Good idea! We all need to get away from the digital world & go enjoy the real world once in a while!
Awesome plan! I look forward to hearing how your family adjusts.
I will discuss the idea with my husband. At this point, he might actually be inclined to accept the *challenge* - a few years ago there's no way he'd even let me finish the sentence ;).
kk - I have a geek job too, so all powering off is subject to the requirements of employment.
We did this last weekend too, and I have to say, this weekend was harder. It was very hot and muggy, which shortened the list of desirable activities quite a bit. But I think it'll be nice once the heat backs off a bit.
It's surprising how many hours can disappear into these little screens.
Always good to take a media fast. Enjoy!
