Ice Storm

We are living in the middle of a surreal landscape. An ice storm has added a half-inch thick coating of ice over everything - including some of our windows. And with temperatures dropping well below freezing, it looks like we'll be living in it for a while. All the icicles have a westward slant, since the wind was coming in pretty strong from the east during the storm. It's a giant pain in many ways, but every once in a while, when the sun is out, you can catch a glimpse of a hundred little shimmering prisms in the brush.

Some photos...

Great photos. Aesthetically speaking only.

Our weather has been pretty lame up here. The storms keep missing us and the lake effect falls an hour east. We've had the deep freeze lately. For days temps never got above 0F.

many northerners I am sure would slap me for saying this, but I really miss that weather! I was originally from the northeast but am transplanted down south for the time being...I miss the change in seasons.

Hope the house it warm & toasty... that way you can be indoors enjoying the scenery. (Cause once you step outside... GRRR!)

Yawza, but that looks cold. I especially liked the double decker bird house. We had our snow day last Wednesday and are really looking forward being above freezing later this week. I hope your own thaw comes when you need it.
