More photos

I'm feeling a bit of general burnout today. Since I can't take a vacation, I'll post some more photos...

Amaranth, growing in our garden

A dragonfly that was following me

A monarch butterfly on a clover flower.
We must have a dozen different kinds
of butterflies fluttering by these days.

Forbidden Love
Can you tell I was behind on the mowing?

Wow! Is Amaranth a weed, or a flower or what? I've never seen anything like that around here. Super cool!

Maggie - In June it was golden brown and crispy. Now that we're in a pattern of 95+ F and thunderstorms, it's growing like mad. And yes, it pretty flat...

Suzer - Amamranth is actually a type of grain. It's like millet that's been given superpowers or something. That photo is the result of three tiny seeds. Apparently they can be popped like popcorn or milled like wheat. The leaves are supposed to be good as greens when they're tiny too. Of course I've never tried any of the above. I just had some seeds and decided to try it...
